How to calculate the weight of substances in limit test of Chloride
How to calculate the weight of substances in limit test of Chloride
First we make 25 ppm chloride standard solution or according to Pharmacopoeia (B.P.,U.S.P.,J.P.,C.P. and Eur. P.) using Sodium Chloride.
Or any other suitable substances specified in monograph. We take 10 ml of 25 ppm chloride standard solution for limit test of chloride.
It means we take 0.25 mg of Chloride.
Formula
0.25 mg of Chloride present in or as B.P.,U.S.P.,J.P.,C.P. and Eu.P (Std)
Actual wt. of Chloride present in mg in each g of substance(to be Test)
EXAMPLES
For Substances 250 ppm of Chloride
It means 250 g of chloride present in 1000,000 g of substances
= 0.00025g Chloride present in each gram of substances or
= 0.25mg Chloride present in each gram of substances
0.25 mg of Chloride present in (Std)
0.25 mg of Chloride present in each gram of substances
= 1 g of substances required for limit test of Chloride (250ppm)
For Substances 200 ppm of Chloride
It means 200 g of chloride present in 1000,000 g of substances
= 0.0002g Chloride present in each gram of substances or
= 0.2mg Chloride present in each gram of substances
0.25 mg of Chloride present in (Std)
0.2 mg of Chloride present in each gram of substances
= 1.25 g of substances required for limit test of Chloride (200ppm)
For Substances 500 ppm of Chloride
It means 500 g of chloride present in 1000,000 g of substances
= 0.0005g Chloride present in each gram of substances or
= 0.5mg Chloride present in each gram of substances
0.25 mg of Chloride present in (Std)
0.5 mg of Chloride present in each gram of substances
= 0.5 g of substances required for limit test of Chloride (500ppm)
For Substances 430 ppm of Chloride
It means 430 g of chloride present in 1000,000 g of substances
= 0.00043g Chloride present in each gram of substances or
= 0.43mg Chloride present in each gram of substances
0.25 mg of Chloride present in (Std)
0.43 mg of Chloride present in each gram of substances
= 0.5814 g of substances required for limit test of Chloride (430ppm)
For Substances 1.25% of Chloride
It means 1.250 g of chloride present in 100 g of substances
= 0.0125g Chloride present in each gram of substances or
= 12.5mg Chloride present in each gram of substances
0.25 mg of Chloride present in (Std)
12.5 mg of Chloride present in each gram of substances
= 0.02 g of substances required for limit test of Chloride (1.25%)
For Substances 0.25% of Chloride
It means 0.250 g of chloride present in 100 g of substances
= 0.0025g Chloride present in each gram of substances or
= 2.5mg Chloride present in each gram of substances
0.25 mg of Chloride present in (Std)
2.5 mg of Chloride present in each gram of substances
= 0.1 g of substances required for limit test of Chloride (0.25%)
For Substances 0.1% of Chloride
It means 0.1 g of chloride present in 100 g of substances
= 0.001g Chloride present in each gram of substances or
= 1.0mg Chloride present in each gram of substances
0.25 mg of Chloride present in (Std)
1.0 mg of Chloride present in each gram of substances
= 0.25 g of substances required for limit test of Chloride (0.1%)
