METHOD OF ANALYSIS OF TOLNAFTATE

Weight accurately about 0.4 g of Tolnaftate, dissolve in 50 ml of anhydrous glacial acetic acid . Previously neutralized with 0.1 M Perchloric acid . Using Crystal Violet as indicator and add 20 ml mercuric acetate solution ( Previously neutralized with 0.1 M Perchloric acid . Using Crystal Violet as indicator) Titrate with 0.1 M Perchloric acid upto green colour changed.
Each ml of 0.1 M Perchloric acid is equivalent to 0.030741g of Tolnaftate .
